Event Recap: She Started It with Social Wahines

September 14, 2017

We hope you enjoyed the film “She Started It” and gleaned some insights into actual startup life with the stories shared by Tiffany Quezada during our Fireside Chat! It is not easy to build a startup here in Hawaii but definitely not impossible.

A good start would be to check out the resources for entrepreneurs here on the island – and we were fortunate to have 3 of the leading entities as sponsors of this event. A big Thank You to Hawaii’s leading tech startup accelerator – Blue Startups, one of the top 10 coding schools in the U.S. – DevLeague and last but not least, ImpactHub Honolulu for hosting us!

Reach out to them to learn what they can do for you and if you are an entrepreneur embarking on your journey, we wish you all the very best in your endeavors! Special thanks to Ellen Ng for organizing!

Wetware Wednesday was a great end to our first day of coworking, the event was sponsored by Hawaii Technology Development Corporation or HTDC for short.  There were pupus from Gordon Biersch and beer from Golden Road and plenty networking and team building to kickoff HACC 2017, the state sponsored Hawaii Annual Code Challenge.  Check out some of the images below from the event.

Here’s a peak of the Impact Hub soft launch opening cleansing and celebration.

Coworking Starts August 23

August 21, 2017

Impact Hub Honolulu will officially open our doors for coworking. It has been almost 3 years since we opened our prototype space ProtoHUB Honolulu on the other side of Kaka’ako in the Alu Like building. After operating there and having hundreds of events and providing space and resources to over 150 members we are excited to be in our permanent home at 1050 Queen Street Honolulu HI.

Our new space is a coworking, event, office, and community space designed to facilitate sustainable impact through collaboration and empowering communities. Impact Hub Honolulu enables businesses and individuals to create meaningful impact in Hawaii and abroad.

To celebrate our soft launch we are offering a 2 week free coworking membership period to everyone, from 8/23/17 to 9/6/17. If you were a member of the ProtoHUB Honolulu we will extend this offer for an additional 2 weeks ending on 9/22/17. Now, for anyone out there who supported our IndieGoGo Crowdfunding campaign to help build out the Commons area your perks will start after the trial time period ends.

We have just launched an Impact Hub Honolulu member app that allows members of our community to book meeting rooms and workspaces, check in to the venue, and contact venue host conveniently from anywhere. Check your Google Play and iTunes app store for our Impact Hub Honolulu’s member app!

Leading up to the start of coworking we have been busy getting the space ready. Almost everyday the space looks different but this hasn’t stopped people coming in and checking things out. Almost half of the offices have been reserved and we have had multiple events in the venue space, such as, a screening of Most Likely To Succeed and the Women’s March HOT SEAT town hall with Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa.
