The best part of our community is truly the individuals that make it up. We’re shaking up our bi-weekly member spotlight with new title that Impact Hubs worldwide have adopted.
Meet Clare Hanusz. Clare is amazing, here is her impact.
IH (Impact Hub HNL): Tell us about your business.
CH (Clare Hanusz): Aloha Immigration is an immigration legal services company. Generally, I help people who want to come to or stay in the US.
IH:What are your goals in business for the next year?
CH: My #1 goal is to avoid professional and personal burnout in the age of Trump. My work was stressful and often depressing before but it’s so much worse now.

IH: What
are your greatest business challenges?
CH: The classic work / life /family balance, as a solo practitioner with 2 teen age kiddos.
IH: Tell us about your passions.
CH: Social justice in general. Immigrant rights and public school advocacy are my current top two (I’m on the board of Parents for Public Schools Hawaii and one of the folks who occupied Gov. Lingle’s office to fight furlough Fridays). I’ve also done a lot of work on domestic and international human rights issues. Vegetarian food and animal rights. Wine with friends.
IH: What community impact do you strive to make?
CH: Trying to leave things at least a little better than I find them.
IH: Do you have any hobbies, skills or passions you’d like to share?
CH: Not really – oh, I do pretty good bubble letters on protest signs.

In the future, we would love for these pieces to read less as an interview and more as thoughtful content written from an in-depth conversation. Let Anne know if you would be interested in meeting your fellow members and trying your hand and telling their story. Even better, if you want to brag about a member you know well, that works too.
