Last week we had an awesome sunset yoga session with Kelsey Barden, owner and operator of Yoga Floats. Kelsey made the whole experience fun and accessible to all ages, even for someone (me) who has never combined the two before. After the first five minutes, I felt comfortable, safe, and unintimidated. Here’s just a sampling of the pictures Kelsey took of us while we enjoyed her class. The level of service and passion she provides, along with explicit instruction, made me want to bring the next visitor I get from the mainland straight to her class for a unique experience on the water at sunset even though I live here already.
Yoga Floats came about out of the desire to enjoy the breathtaking beauty and serenity of Hawaii. An avid yogi and enthusiastic paddler, Kelsey wanted to find a way to combine the deep sense of peace she found through yoga with the inspiring and uplifting feeling of being on the ocean. Though not the first person to envision SUP yoga, Kelsey wanted to be the first person to find a way to make SUP yoga affordable and accessible to anyone and everyone in Hawaii.
We also had a chance to ask Kelsey a few questions about her business:
KB: It helps me get focused and motivated to work. I like getting out of the house and I really love the people I meet and finding ways to network and help each other out.
